How I miss my City Mini GT

So before Pumpkinella was born I did some serious market research on pushchairs. I went to every shop on the high street, from Mothercare to Kiddicare to John Lewis, I could go on. I tested every last pushchair and the one thing they all had in common was that they were quite heavy, at between 10 and 15kg. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a skinny-Marie and I am used to buying too much during a shopping trip and having to carry heavy bags to the car. However I felt that I needed to at least be able to pick […]

Unfriended on facebook

Shock shock horror!! It happened to me. I’m still in slight shock about it but that’s┬áthe world we live in and an unfortunate symptom of our times. To be unfriended on Facebook is to lose a friend without knowing when, how or why. We met at an NCT course and even though we didn’t have much contact at first, we soon got chatting and so did our spouses. When our babies were born 5 days apart, we got in touch via Facebook and supported one another through the new mummy phase. It helped to know someone else going through the […]

Happy Sunday

For the first time in around 5 months, my folks have come to visit and it’s been a lovely weekend. I miss my mummy and daddy loads! Although I’m in Cardiff and they’re in London, we might as well be abroad in terms of how often we see each other. It’s a real shame because I had always wanted my daughter to have a great relationship with both mine and my husband’s families. However, in this busy world, everyone is always too busy, even to say the odd hello every now and again. I do miss my family but it’s […]

A lesson in baby safety

This is my tough lesson in baby safety. Today started off very promising indeed. I was getting over the cold and for the first time in a week, was able to spend some one-on-one time with Pumpkinella. My husband had been taking her to her grandparents while I recovered from a horrible cold. We played together, took a long walk in the park for the morning nap and had a play together at a play group in the afternoon. Pumpkinella had a textbook bedtime routine and all was fine for the first 30 minutes. And then she woke up crying. […]

Pumpkinella’s Bumbo

Before we had our lovely Pumpkinella, I was already on the lookout for all the best gadgets, accessories and equipment for her. I researched every single product I buy because I wanted it to be just right. One of the first things I purchased was a Bumbo. I bought it at a Boots baby event and there wasn’t much of a choice in colour but green is classically neutral and Pumpkinella did not want us to know her gender. When I got it home, I proceeded to unpacking it to assemble. How easy that was, just 3 parts; The seat […]
